Reading Questions, Lecture 21 (11/24)

Papers: AQuery,

AQuery is a query language that is specially suited to efficiently evaluating queries where the data is ordered -- as it commonly is in streaming systems.

As you read the papers, consider the following questions:

  1. How does the data model and / or semantics of AQuery differ from SQL?
  2. What does AQuery do to improve the performance of query processing over sequence data?
  3. How do the techniques discussed in AQuery relate to the papers we have read on streaming database systems?
